Beside St Ellier Church and outside our house, there was a plaque unveiled to celebrate and honour the life of an American fighter pilot who was shot down between St Ellier and Ciral on 13th August 1944.
The whole village was involved along with many dignitaries. Our English neighbour, Gaby, did a great job at translating for the benefit of the American relatives who attended.
